Fantastic plugin! Gives a lot of control over how to set up inventory and storage features. Dev is also very helpful and responsive in helping with any issues and adding new features. I highly recommend! Thanks Dungeonmind! :)

Hey! I haven't done my second playthrough to check for the screen freezing on my other laptop just yet unfortunately because I've been too busy with real-life school (midterms coming up). T_T

However, I did remember something from my initial playthrough I was wondering about: when I did the Garuda mission I set out on the 14th so I wasn't able to turn in the mission until the 16th. However I was still able to turn it in despite the deadline being the 15th; so is the deadline for completing the mission and you can still turn it in later, or is it for the whole mission, including turning it in? If you meant the latter, then you might wanna check in to make sure your switches/variables are in order. Otherwise, that's a nice anti-frustration feature for people for people who leave things for the last minute (like me, usually on accident lol). I just wanted to let you know about it in case it was a mistake.

Sorry for not bringing this up earlier, I admittedly forgot about it until recently. I might record my next playthrough just to make it easier to keep track of everything I've done to report back. Hopefully I'll be able to get to it soon!

I hope the game dev is going well! I've seen your tweets, I know all about struggling with keeping up steam for projects. You got this! :)

1) It's probably my notebook then. I will try on my other laptop and see if the problem persists. Thank you!

2) I am using the 0.8 file but I've noticed it autosaving every morning as I've continued. I'll keep an eye on it when I do my second run through on my other laptop.

3) To me as well! \o/

4) Oh no worries, like I said they weren't suggestions so much as me just being curious. Those game events would be fun! But don't overwork yourself. Definitely focus on completing the game. Maybe that's something you can add in post-release content after you've taken a well-deserved break. :) Good luck!

I haven't finished the demo yet but there's a couple of things that have popped up that I felt I should post about here:

1) I don't know if this is the game or due to RPG Maker or my notebook I'm playing on, or something else. In any case, the game has an issue where the screen will just freeze itself. The game itself seems to still be running: the music is playing, I can open the menu and tab around, and even move my character and interact with things, but I can't see anything going on. Sometimes it happens frequently enough where I'm repeating the same day over and over again because the game just freezes on me and I have to redo my progress, other times it doesn't happen for a while. I just thought I'd let you know.

2) On that subject, maybe it's just me but I feel the autosave could be a bit more liberal. That or it's bugged. I thought at first it was autosaving at the start of every day but I was a few days into Month 2 when I realized it was still autosaved in the middle of Month 1. Also, is there a way to Transio back to your Commons from the school or save while in the school and away from the Record Keeper? Have I just not unlocked either yet? (I know there's the crystal outside the Headmaster's office but that's kind of out of the way.) I understand if you wanna keep manual saves scarce to discourage save scumming, but perhaps a Record Keeper or save crystal near the entrance would make it less tedious to get around the school, or just more liberal autosaving.

Besides those two things I've been enjoying the game a lot! I really am enjoying the exploration and learning about the world, talking to the characters, the strategic combat focusing on elemental weaknesses (I love the SMT/Persona games so I'm right at home), and the actual weight decisions have. It's made me question everything I do in the game and I even initially missed out on the Thesis of Organs book because I was worried going into the cave before helping Uni might mess things up with her lol. There were a couple more things I had thought about that I'd like to ask:

-Regarding challenge runs like the Soloist run, have you thought about enabling a level 1 run too? Some way like an accessory you can equip to characters to prevent them from gaining any EXP, for example. I know this is kind of breaking with the theme of earning grades in a school but I personally love challenge runs and I just thought a Grade 1 Soloist run would be really interesting, especially since there's a greater emphasis on crafting to boost stats rather than leveling up. Not a suggestion, just something I wondered about!
-You've said Houses will have some exclusive stuff such as items and such, I was wondering is there going to be some kind of House Point system or competitions in the full game? Or are you going for something different than competition between the Houses? Again not a suggestion, I understand you're already putting a lot into this game, it was just something I was wondering about.

At the moment I'm at the intro to crystals class with Uni. She was asking me about what happened with Fejora's crystal and I was about to respond when the game screen froze unfortunately but the anxiety behind that question is real. Since I broke it despite her instructions and promised her I'd be truthful with her, it's making me sweat a little. Do I stay true to my word and tell her, potentially getting in trouble, or do I go against my word and lie to her, potentially saving my butt in the short term but maybe not the long term? There's no easy answer! I love it!

Good luck with finishing the game! I look forward to buying it day one of release! I have a long history with RPG Maker so seeing games like this come out for it makes me really happy. :) (And sorry for the really long message.)

1. Hi there! What's your name? Want to introduce yourself?

Hey, I'm Olly. I'm 27 and I live in California. I'm an aspiring game dev and a writer. While I mostly write prose, for a long time now I've been wanting to make a game, specifically an epic RPG. I'm very much an amateur as unfortunately I never got into coding or art until recently.

2. Did you participate in the last jam we held? If so, what do you plan on doing better this time? If not, what's your reason for joining?

Nope! I'm brand new.  I'm joining the game jam for a few reasons: 1) I've been trying to get back into RPG Maker and relearn what I used to know, it's just hard to sit down and keep at it for a variety of reasons (ADHD, school, job hunting, etc.). 2) I wanna finish a project. Too often do I start projects and either get carried away or get distracted by a new shiny idea and never finish.  The two-week time limit will give me incentive to actually finish something, even if the something isn't very good. (Damn perfectionism!) 3) I wanna get better at coding. And art, but I don't see myself getting good enough to use custom art in 2 weeks. I figure I can worry about custom art later, if I decide to expand on my game after the game jam.

3. What games are your favorites? Did any of them inspire you, or made you want to make your own?

Shadow of the Colossus, Golden Sun, Final Fantasy 6 12 and Tactics, Kingdom Hearts, Dark Souls, Persona 3 and 5, SMT: Nocturne, Hyper Light Drifter, A Link to the Past and The Wind Waker, and oh god I could go on tbh. I primarily love RPGs and action adventure games lol. They definitely inspired me! As a kid I made a high-key Golden Sun ripoff in RM2k3 lol.

4. Do you have experience with game development? What did you do/with what engine?

I have very minimal experience with game dev. I got into RPG Maker as a kid with RM2k3, and it was a lot of fun figuring out how to utilize the program to make my game. I would just sit down and tinker with all the event commands and write everything down. The game sucked but I was having too much fun making it to care lol. Unfortunately I slacked on practicing game dev real hard in high school and didn't get back into until later in the VX Ace days. Because of this I forgot a lot of what I already learned, and relied too heavily on community scripts and, now with MV, plugins. So I'm trying to get back into RPG Maker and relearn everything, and make a few practice games with no plugins. I'm hoping this jam session can get me started on that!

5. Tell us about something you're passionate about!

Writing stories. Writing is the one thing I've always been into, even before I could actually write lol. I love to tell stories. Particularly epic fantasy stories with a focus on the characters, how they interact, how they react to the things going on around them. I'm kind of notorious among my friends for writing dark or depressing stories, and yeah, I have a thing for angsty stories I guess lol. But I do like happy stories. I guess the best way to put it is I like stories where characters earn their happy endings. This is why I've always been drawn to RPGs and action adventure games... they lend themselves to epic and emotional fantasy stories very well!!

6. What are your goals for this game jam?

I feel like I kinda already went over this a few times in this post lol so at the risk of sounding like a broken record: Finish a game. Relearn RPG Maker. Learn better time management especially. And if I can, learn some JavaScript and even pixel art, even if it's super basic and I can't do anything with it just yet. A first step is better than no step, right?
